Sheila Smith is founder and president of CornerstoneHR, LLC, a human resources consulting and outsourced HR services firm located in Maryland. Sheila is a graduate of Notre Dame of MD University, where she received her BA in Liberal Arts specializing in business management and human services.
After two decades of growing her career in various corporate industries, Sheila decided to launch on her own and provide outsourced HR advisory services to those companies who did not have this benefit internally. It was in this capacity that Sheila realized a strong passion for educating and protecting, and helping employers navigate the constantly-changing and complex world of HR. Sheila specializes in advisory services, and compliance education.
Sheila has most recently served on the MD Board of Physicians and has worked closely to support Catholic Charities & My Sister’s Place Job Readiness Program, and other local charitable organizations such as Carroll Food Sunday, Carroll County Cold Weather Shelter, and the Westminster Rescue Mission.
Sheila and her husband, Jeff, reside in Westminster, MD, with their two chocolate labs, Pete, and Penny.
Dee Davis , HR Manager
Dee Davis has over thirty years progressive Human Resources Generalist experience driving organizational success through the development of human talent at corporate and nonprofit organizations. She is experienced in human resources management, business strategy and partnership building having worked for Toys “R” Us (corporate), Home Depot (regional), DBI Services (regional) and Health Alliance Associates (local). Dee earned an undergraduate degree from Towson University and an MBA from Loyola University in Baltimore. She currently holds an active PHR certification. When away from the office, Dee volunteers for Habitat for Humanity and enjoys traveling and tending to her gardens.
Katie Muse, Human Resources Administrator
Katie brings her detail-oriented and strong interpersonal skills to CornerstoneHR as a Human Resources Administrator. Previously, she was a member of the Target Human Resources team where she conducted new hire orientations, onboarding and performed recruiting efforts. Additionally, Katie supported training practices while monitoring team members’ learning progress.
Katie is a graduate of Pennsylvania State University where she earned a Bachelor of Science in Human Development and Family Studies. An avid volleyball player both in high school and college, Katie now volunteers her time as a coach through Club Ball and at PSU!
