Sheila Smith, PHR, CP - Founder
Sheila founded the firm 2012, after two decades of managing HR departments in commercial real estate, food brokerage and marketing. She served as Vice President and Director of Human Resources for 11 years at Colliers Pinkard, a commercial real estate firm.
Sheila saw the need to coach businesses without an internal HR department. Her primary role is to eliminate the fear of HR for business owners and managers – and guide them through constant change. Through her guidance, business owners benefits from HR foundational tools, education, and resources to maintain compliance – eliminating the pain of managing the process internally.
Sheila’s concentrates is in the area of compliance, leadership advisory, and policy development.
A graduate with honors, Sheila received a bachelor’s degree from Notre Dame of Maryland University in Liberal Arts, with a triple concentration in Human Services, Social Science, and Business Management. Sheila went on to receive professional designations of PHR and SHRM-CP.
Away from the office, Sheila loves cooking, gardening, history, friends/family gatherings, entertaining, decorating, the time at the beach. Sheila and husband Jeff, reside in Westminster, MD, with their chocolate labs, Pete and Penny.
Elaine Strong, HR Manager
Elaine Strong joins CornerstoneHR specializing in recruiting and HR administration. She provides an array of professional and creative services to ensure that the business is always operating with “what is next” in mind. Elaine is a graduate of Notre Dame of Maryland University with a bachelor’s degree in Corporate Communications, with an emphasis in human resource management, marketing and business. Her career has included human resources, fiscal and operations management in both healthcare and academic organizations. Elaine, and her husband Allen, have three grown children, two beautiful grandchildren, and reside in the Baltimore area.
Jeanne Hofferberth, HR Manager
Jeanne is a successful HR professional with over 25 years experience. Her focus includes compensation and reward programs, performance management, HR administration, benefits and global mobility. Jeanne achieved success with The Black & Decker Corporation, Under Armour, Inc., and the Anne Arundel County Board of Education. Jeanne holds a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Towson University in Towson, Maryland. She has also completed the Compensation Certification Professional program (CCP) through World at Work. Outside of the office, she enjoys traveling, spending time at the beach with her husband and family and feverishly cheering local sports teams, and occasionally, binging on Netflix.
Ally Pradel, HR Manager
Ally takes pride in her attention to detail and a strong sense of urgency when it comes to deadlines and objectives. Ally graduated from The University of Delaware with a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Marketing. Outside of work, Ally is also pursuing a Masters Degree in Human Resources Management. In her free time she enjoys exercising, traveling, cooking, and spending time with her husband and Golden Retriever.
