The Facility Manager is responsible for the overall management, operation, and maintenance of all company facilities. This includes ensuring that the buildings are secure, safe, and up to code. The Facilities Manager will also manage day-to-day operations such as janitorial services, security systems, parking lots and garages, landscaping, and other facility-related services.

Responsibilities – Assist the Property Manager in the following duties:

  • Oversee and manage the delivery of facilities services to the portfolio in accordance with all agreed policies, procedures, and contract scope.
  • Management and oversee the Building Engineer team.
  • Manage janitorial staff to ensure cleanliness of all buildings.
  • Monitor building security systems to ensure safety of personnel.
  • Oversee grounds keeping activities including snow removal.
  • Create budget proposals and track expenses.
  • Monitor building systems such as HVAC, security, plumbing, electrical, etc.
  • Maintain records of maintenance requests and work orders
  • Coordinate with vendors for repairs and services
  • Respond to emergency maintenance requests in a timely manner.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable safety regulations.
  • Daily communication with the Property Manager and Building Engineers concerning building issues and work order status. 
  • Other duties as assigned. 

Job Requirements

  • Must have professional experience managing and implementing a maintenance program at a large commercial property, including supervising staff.
  • Must be comfortable with Microsoft Office: Word, Outlook and Excel
  • Must be able to communicate clearly and professional, both verbally and in written form
  • Must have a pro-active and professional attitude, with emphasis on Customer Service
  • Must have a working knowledge of commercial HVAC systems, including experience with Energy Management Software
  • 5+ years of experience in facility management or related field
  • Have some knowledge of construction, reading blueprints, managing multiple projects. 
  • Knowledge of Yardi is a plus.
